Doing Fashion
‘Doing Fashion’ means to be involved and to responsibly participate in the design of the present and future. The study goal is to develop a comprehensive design practice.
The Institute Fashion Design demands and fosters fashion as overall perception in all its body-related forms. We understand education as an investment in the future and culture/art/design as an indispensable means in the world to critically question the present. We encourage our young talents to boldly break away from the conventional understanding of fashion, from its concept of beauty and images of the body. Developing one’s own language as fashion designer lies at the heart of knowledge transfer at the Institute of Fashion Design. During the intensive three and half years of studies we sensitize students to recognize their own strengths, to develop further and to allow themselves to be guided by their own intuition. For the students the Bachelor of Arts degree program enables them to discover and specify their own vision as a fashion designer and define their own position in the field.
