Stefanie Biggel

“She lives in a city overcrowded with people. She can choose but she doesn’t know where to go. Outside and inside aren’t the same. Everything is so close yet so distant.”

Stefanie Biggel’s SS14 collection is centered on a story of anonymity and loneliness. Wandering through a concrete jungle, the Stefanie Biggel girl aimlessly seeks answers. Playing upon this notion of desertion, Stefanie interprets those secluded feelings through a collection brimming with juxtaposed aesthetics. Influenced by architectural elements, floating silk is paired with stubborn neoprene and tulle. Whilst concrete and skyscraper digitialised prints allow her to seep into her surroundings, creating the camouflage she needs to survive. A palette of black, white and grey are injected with an array of soft pastel yellow, orange and green for an added touch of femininity and lightness. The heavy, boxy shapes however, give the whole collection its androgynous appeal. Each garments plays an integral part to Stefanie’s story and every product comes with a beautifully printed hanging tag revealing its role.
