Léa Walti

As a professional dressmaker already, Léa Walti decided to go for a study in fashion design to deepen her growing interest in design and clothing. Graduated at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland, and working through a variety of internships in in Zürich and New York, she gets the offer to intern at Alexander Wangs mainline design-team. After 5 months of hard but very inspiring work and back in Switzerland she starts designing her very own collections.

Her wearable and versatile looks are characterized by modern reduction und a constant interplay of feminine and masculine elements. In the course of time the looks developed from very formfitting and experimental to more sporty and wearable. Point of departure for her drafts are often patterns and processing techniques of existing clothes as well as studies of the history of fashion, especially the early 20th century.
